About Mike Andes

I Started With a Push Mower at 11 Years Old

I grew up in a family that moved 20+ times before I turned 18. Money was the only source of stress I ever saw. So at 11, my brother and I started Andes Lawn Care with a push mower, a trimmer, and a blower — all bought with $1,000 from a family friend.

That business paid my way through college. I graduated at 18, dropped out of pre-med, and started Augusta Lawn Care. Today Augusta has 200+ locations and $50M+ in annual revenue. Everything on this site comes from that journey — including the painful parts.
